FAQs
-
Cosmetic tattooing (also referred to as permanent makeup or PMU) is the process of implanting pigment beneath the surface of the skin with disposable needles to produce the appearance of hair strokes, makeup, or to enhance the face's natural features.
-
Paramedical tattooing is an advanced cosmetic tattooing procedure designed to replace lost pigment and conceal skin irregularities on healed scars (1+ years). Skin irregularities can develop due to illness, trauma, or everyday activities, resulting in marks or scars from things such as cancer, accidents, self-harm, surgery, pregnancy, weight fluctuation, and more. Paramedical tattoos offers a solution to reduce the visibility of these skin irregularities. By using skin-tone inks and vitamin serums, we can camouflage scars and create tattoos that resemble natural-looking skin.

The longevity of permanent makeup varies from person to person and depends on several factors, including the individual’s skin type, lifestyle, and the specific procedure. Generally, permanent makeup can last anywhere from 1 to 5 years. Over time, the pigment may fade, and touch-up sessions are recommended to maintain the desired look.

Highly-effective, topical anesthetics are used before and during your procedure. Pain threshold levels vary from person to person and every effort is made to make you as comfortable as possible for the entirety of the procedure.
*Topical Anesthetics used contain Lidocaine and Epinephrine. Please let me know of any allergies to these ingredients

Make sure the area that is going to be tattooed is healthy, hydrated and at its optimum best as this will ensure rapid healing with the least complications. Healing time differs in individuals, it can be anywhere from 7 days to 14 days. Swelling usually subsides within a couple of hours (except in full lip treatments where it can take up to 24 hours). Itchiness is the first sign of healing, please ensure you do not itch the area and keep the area moisturised as scabbing and itching will cause patchiness within the tattoo.

A perfecting appointment is scheduled 6-8 weeks after the first procedure. All clients are advised during aftercare instructions to come in for a touch up 6-8 weeks post procedure to solidify anything that may have faded after the first treatment. Most permanent cosmetic procedures (especially brow procedures) require a minimum of 2 sessions to solidify the pigment. Everyone heals differently. If a client does not heal perfectly the first time, this is not unusual and not a cause for worry.
